265. The Quit Factor | Tim Teykl | Alvin ISD

Ownership is one of the keys to making sure our athletes stay in the game. In other words, if we want to keep them from quitting, and if we want them to play to their highest level, we’ve got to help them feel that they have a stake in our athletic program. When our athletes have ownership, they have passion, and with that passion, they will find success in sports and in life.

In this episode, Coach Tim Teykl explains why ownership is so important in athletics and other parts of life. Everything in sports mimics life, and if we can teach our athletes early what it feels like to take ownership and be passionate about their hard work, they will find success later in life, too.

Key Takeaways: -When you’re given ownership, you have passion. -When you have passion, you can succeed. -Everything in sports mimics what happens in life.
